a little about us...
To The Republic brings a blend of singer/songwriter warmth colored with a wide range of influences. With songs that are filled with gripping emotional bite, heartfelt melody, and soul stirring lyrics, the listener is taken on a journey that heats up the heart and inspires the senses. Some have said it sounds like Wilco met up with The Jayhawks, Son Volt, and Centro-Matic to produce a record with Dave Grohl. It could easily be said that To The Republic is one of the most intriguing bands that you have never heard of.

In late 2005 singer/songwriter/guitarist, Nate Marriner, decided to his the North Carolina as a solo act. Unexpectedly, in the spring of 2006 he acquired several band members and began a musical project. The effort was short-lived, but in that 8 month run, Nate began playing with his friend Eddie Lucas, and new found bassist Houston Causby.

Wanting to create an original sound, honoring the footsteps of their influences, Marriner set out with Houston Causby, drummer Eddie Lucas, and producer Mike Franke to start a Rock and Roll project. To The Republic was born.

After the release of their four song debut, “The August E.P.,” their music received instant praise from the local music scene. When asked about his experience working with To The Republic on their recording, mastering engineer Travis Leonard from Carrboro’s “The Kitchen” mastering studio said,

“Its easy to work with good music.”

In September of 2007, the search for a fourth member ended when the band discovered PA native, Andrew Davis. Andrew’s musical abilities on guitar, vocals, and various other instruments amplify the the already dynamic sound of To The Republic.

On the stage, To The Republic’s unique blend of rock continues to draw new listeners that become instant fans.

See you at the next show.
